Utah trip and baby blessing
We went camping this weekend for a baby blessing. EJ and Ken had their son blessed on Sunday. We left Saturday morning and headed to SLC. We went to the Church History Museum, toured the top of the Conference Center, toured Rich's new dentist office, and went camping. While waiting for everyone to get done with the museum Randal was waiting outside since it was a nice day. He saw his cousin David and his daughter Lisa. I walked outside at that time too. We haven't seen them in a few years and it happened to be that they were walking by the museum the same time we were outside of the museum. It was fun to talk with them.
We went to the Utah Foster Care Chalk Art Festival in SLC. There were many people who shared their talent of art. We enjoyed seeing all the different pieces.
In the afternoon we went swimming at our campground. They had a nice heated pool. Saturday evening we EJ, Ken, Benjamin, and Ken's family came to our campsite and we had tin foil dinners and s'mores. We had a great time visiting and enjoying the beautiful weather together.
We had a nice walk in the later evening and then went to bed. We woke up early in the morning to pouring rain. Kurt and Katrina are the only ones who had rain gear so they ran all our stuff from the tents to the van. Thank you! We quickly packed up and brought everything over to a covered pavilion where we rolled everything up and packed the van. We had planned the night before with EJ and Ken to get to church a little early so we could all sit together – sure enough, we could all sit together because we (the campers) got to church 2 hours early due to the rain and we had no other place to stay dry than the church.
After the baby blessing at church we all went to EJ and Ken’s house and enjoyed a delicious meal. Then we hit the road back home. We had a fun weekend and enjoyed the company.
When we got back to Rexburg there was a double rainbow! Here are some photos of the weekend. Enjoy!
